IPS Harish Trivedi Memorial Award for Humanitarian Services
This year the Hamara Samarpan Trust has selected Ms. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS presently posted as Addl. CP/Traffic (HQ) for awarding the Humanitarian and Service Award in recognition of the service rendered by her in serving the society during her police career. She was born on 01/07/1967 and got her education in Uttaranchal. She had been a brilliant student in her academic career as well and secured Gold Medal at the accomplishment of the Post-Graduation (Hindi Literature) as topped the Garhwal University. After her education she joined Police Services on 01/04/1993 as Asstt. Commissioner of Police in Delhi and performed duties in Delhi and Andaman Nicobar Islands. As ACP she has worked as ACP/Geeta Colony, ACP/Traffic, East District, ACP/Licensing and in CAW Cell As DCP she performed as DCP/Traffic, DCP/Security. DCP/SED and as Addl. CP she has supervised DAP, Traffic/ Zone-I & II and now Addl.CP/T/HQ.
During her posting in Andaman & Nicobar Islands she organized several awareness programs to sensitize the tribal’s of the islands under Nicobar District to reduce the suicidal rate amongst them having 3″ highest rate in India, making students aware of the cyber frauds, also reduce the use of drugs amongst the students and residents.
She had also served as 1.G Prisons at Andaman & Nicobar Islands and designed various vocational courses for prisoners to enable them in rehabilitation and ensured effective measures for improving the life of the prisoners and making them enable to earn their livelihood through legal ways with pride in society and programs for protecting the rights of juveniles.
While supervising SPUWAC Designed awareness programs for women/ girls/ children, gender sensitization within the department and school/ colleges and institutions for their rights. Successfully carried out training programs in various schools regarding sexual abuse amongst minor girls, SPUWAC unit of Delhi Police got prestigious entry in Limca Book of records for training of self-defence in maximum numbers twice i.e. during the years of 2018 & 2020 under her able leadership. Ensured effective measures for protecting the rights of juveniles.
She has been honoured with the President Police Medal for meritorious police services in 2019 and CP’s Silver Disc for administration and supervising the tasks as signed to her.
Currently, she is supervising Traffic Unit as Addl. Commissioner of Police (HQ) and successfully organized Interpol General Assembly Summit, RD Celebration, beating the retreat ceremony and other major events attracting huge gathering.
